Slack for Libretime?

Hey everybody - I’m checking in after a few months away. Looks like last time around I was in the process of helping set up https://libretime.slack.com/ but never got around to inviting anyone in!

Would this be a useful thing for community collaboration?

I don’t think we want to add this as an another avenue of communication at this point. I think the forum should provide enough opportunities for us to collaborate as an alternative to the github issue queue and provides an open record for anyone who wants to participate without requiring the constant attention that real-time chat requires. Thanks for the offer though.

I’ve invited @ned-kelly and made hime admin based on followup discussion here - https://github.com/LibreTime/libretime/issues/148#issuecomment-424555934

This should get anyone in who wants to join - https://join.slack.com/t/libretime/shared_invite/enQtNDQ4OTk0Nzc4NzU0LWY2MTE3ZTEwMGJlMjMxZmU2ZDRiNTgwMTM2MDllMzRkZTNjM2YzNmEwYTY1Y2ZlMDI4NmMxNTM4YjQ5YjYwNmU

Think the Slack room should be a good/user friendly way to increase developer and community collaboration.

While I update the release notes for 3.0.0-alpha.8 I’d also like to mention our slack workspace. It looks like it would make sense to put some effort into consolidating all the things needed to join in one place.

So far there is the invite link folks can use to get onboarded to the LibreTime slack workspace.

There is also LibreTime/libretime#538 on GitHub.

For now I’m adding a link to this thread in the release notes. Do we want to add something in the docs?

We have migrated to a Mattermost instance at chat.libretime.org.

Do we need to do anything apart from fixing links to properly sunset Slack?
